How Do I Get Microsoft Phone Link

Microsoft Phone Link, which replaces the Your Phone Companion software, enables you to filter alerts, accept calls, and utilize mobile applications on your PC. Phone Link is now available to users all across the globe, thanks to an improved design for Windows 11. 

With Windows 10 or Windows 11, the Phone Link application will be preinstalled; just search “Phone Link” in the Start menu. If you are using Windows 10 and are unable to locate Phone Link, you may need to upgrade to a later version of Windows 10 or download Phone Link from the Microsoft Store.

If you are starting with an Android device:

  • Open your Android browser, enter aka.ms/yourpc, and download Link to Windows. 
  • Your Android device’s inbuilt Link to Windows will be requested to open.
  • The companion app requires you to check in with your Microsoft account on your PC to connect your devices, even if you’re using your phone.
  • Sign in and scan a PC-displayed QR code. Navigate to www.aka.ms linkphoneqr on your PC.
  • To connect your devices, use the companion app’s camera to scan the QR code on your PC.
  •  For phone and PC content access, you’ll need device permissions.

  1. Make and receive cellular calls.
  2. Browse your photo gallery.
  3. Message history and group conversations.
  4. Search for names or phone numbers in your phone’s contact list.
  5. You may view, dismiss, pin, or clear alerts.
  6. Mute your phone if it is making a sound.
  7. Play, stop, and skip music currently playing on your phone.
  8. Create and respond to SMS messages, send images, emoticons, GIFs, and other material.
  9. Check battery %, Bluetooth status, Wi-Fi connection, and mobile data strength.
  10. Manage which applications may get notifications.
  11. Set your phone to “Do Not Disturb” mode.

How to Verify Pre-installed Link to Windows Version via www.aka.ms linkphoneqr

If you have this option checked on your Android smartphone, updates will be loaded automatically. Updating to the most recent version is highly recommended for optimal performance. 

If you’re using an Android:

  • Settings > Advanced features > Windows link.
  • Select “…” (More) > About Link to Windows in the top right corner.
  • A prompt should indicate an update. If so, hit Update.
  • After the update finishes, shut and reopen the Phone Link app on your PC.

If you’re using Surface Duo:

  • Connected devices under Settings > Link to Windows.

How to Update Phone Link from the Microsoft Store

  • Launch the Microsoft Store app on your computer. 
  • Look for Phone Link with www.aka.ms linkphoneqr.
  • If an update is available, an Update button will appear. If so, click Update, wait for the update to finish, and then click Open.

Upgrade Link to Windows From Galaxy Store – www.aka.ms linkphoneqr

Galaxy Store app updates:

  •     Start the Galaxy Store on Android.
  •     Enter Link to Windows in the Galaxy Store’s search bar.
  •     Enter the program listing by tapping Link to Windows.
  •     Select Update.

 Restart your Android when the update finishes. After a few minutes, shut and reopen Phone Link on your PC.

Windows/Android Versions Are Needed

  • Windows 11 users will have Phone Link automatically installed.
  • Windows 10 must be installed, or it must be updated to at least Windows 10, May 2019 Update.
  • Your mobile device must be equipped with Android 7.0 (Nougat) or later.
